Dear Puzzling, I could list dozens of reasons why we asked for Jeremy’s name to be added to this poll, but the most important one is that he’s not a mediocre driver, he’s a great driver who can get the job done when given the right support and equipment. Your attitude is what is really puzzling.
When you look at statistics and see that Jr’s fanbase migrated from his father who had established himself in the sport and transitioned his son in as well. It seems odd that you would make such claims because you rode a bandwagon here to make that statement. How many chases has Jr. been in hmmm two and Jeremy hmmmm two, It seems pretty even in terms of championship percentage. In terms of restrictor plate tracks, Jr. was being taught how to draft in the womb. Jeremy was self taught and continues to improve on his performance at these tracks. The difference here is we just did not follow a driver who’s Daddy made him. We found a driver who made himself. That is why we are Jeremy Mayfield fans. GO “TEAM GREEN!!!”
God Bless you guys because you have a driver you really believe in and stand by him. That’s great, really.

Glenstapo, if you don’t know already, then you’re just not smart enough for me to explain it to you. The whole world doesn’t need to like Jr. and Gordon, and those of us who allow ourselves to see beyond the hype and publicity pick drivers for overall appeal and not just what you see and hear. Take a little time to look around the world, it’s at your finger tips, and I’m sure that you can figure it out if you’re halfway intelligent.
Dave Blaney has a huge fan base as well, we’ve stood with him through a lot over
the past few years. We ‘Blaniacs’ are always looking for polls and news stories
(and often times correcting news stories) about Dave. Thats why Dave is #3 right now.

You do not know the whole story, only what you read….JEREMY did what he had to do.

This year JEREMY has a great owner, sponser,team-mate and true fans. Last year all was taken from JEREMY, he could only do so much with junk…and didnot have owner and team-mate help…

Another Dave Blaney fan here. BDR is on the up and up. Those Toy-yo’s are looking pretty good. A lot to be excited about this Febuary.
You think think the Fords or Chevys worked together in the draft? Wait until you see the Yota’s. I think it’s going to be a good year.
I think jeremy is going to have a pretty decent year, perhaps makings the chase. But ill tell you what after this year bill davis racing will be a perennial powerhouse, and im gonna love it. Mayfields fans are real fans, the best in racing. Mayfield fans are racing fans. I have been to about 20 races, in about 4 or 5 JR. crashed out and all you see is a big sea of red heading towards the exit not wanting to see the finish because there premadonna was thru. People call this guy a superstar but the jack ass has only won 12 races in 6 years, hardly superstar material. LONG LIVE MAYFIELD FANS

Some of us fans like drivers that maybe aren’t the ones who always win. But they doesn’t mean that they aren’t good or great drivers. Luck and the money to build good cars play a large part in winning. Personally, I like Ricky Rudd and I hope he does well. I like to see different drivers in Victory Lane and I think some are way overdue for a win. So go for it Ricky, Jeremy, and all you guys that always have to sit back and watch the others in VL. I hope this year is your year.
Jeremy may not win the 500 but If he makes the field will be good enough for me….he has to get in the show on speed.I do know he has been testing toyotas just about every week since Sept. using non nascar tracks and Bill Davis has been preparing for yota for 3 years.They have been the Lab Rat and they will be the suprise of the season.Jeremy and blaney like the same setups and the cars Jeremy will drive will not be sabotaged this year.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Jeremy hater, I just think it’s hard enough to go to a new team much less a new manufacturer. I hope he does well though because I think he’s as classy a driver as anyone. Still, I got to say, GO JUNIOR!!
Jimmie Johnson will repeat as nextel cup champ. With, Harvick and Jr. giving him the biggest run for the cup. Tony Stewart will win his 1st Daytona 500. Jeremy Mayfield, an honest, hard working and certainly, LIKABLE driver will NEVER MAKE THE CHASE again for the REST of his carreer. The most realistic prediction has just been posted. i will not support JIMMIE JOHNSON til he gets out of the spotlight of HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS and the backing of JEFF GORDON. I love this sport very much but these 3 people as a whole or single indviduals waste to much tv time on sundays and they waste our time as fans that just love the sport not just 1 particular driver. let JIMMIE JOHNSON go on his own and see how he does. He’s got the best of everything now, But i don’t think he can be a A-PLUS driver like everyone else thinks he can if he was on his own. NASCAR is a family not 1 person. I’m tired of hearing HENDRICK,GORDON, and JOHNSON all the time.
