Brian VickersSprint Cup driver Brian Vickers has agreed to a multiyear contract to remain the driver of the No. 83 Toyota for the Red Bull Racing Team, sources confirmed Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. An official announcement is expected later this week.

Vickers, 25 and a native of Thomasville, N.C., is competing in his sixth Cup season. He was in the last year of a three-year contact with Red Bull, but team officials had an option to extend the deal one season.

Vickers wanted a multiyear agreement, which team officials gladly accepted to keep Vickers in the organization long term.

He ranks 17th in the Cup standings this season with five top 10s and two poles. Vickers’ best results this year are fifth-place finishes at Atlanta in March and Charlotte last month in the Coca-Cola 600.

    I think Brian has done a good job at Red Bull and I hope they keep improving.

    As do it, I love red bull, vickers is a good fit in that car, I just wish they were dodge or chevy…or ford

    Yeah I live Red Bull to that is an awesome company, and they bring alot the table, Id liek to see them get rid of Speed. I love them in the Toyotas after all Red Bull isnt an amercian based company so no reason for the domestic partnership. I likve Vickers to, I can only imagine how much fun he has doing all the red bull events he gets to do.

    good point on them not being an american company Its funny cause I LOVE red bull… I HATE amp…. people who know me will know why thats funny

  5. 5 ganjadude

    On top of red bull being pretty much the number one sponsor when it comes to extreme sports, sponsorships of “no named” people… Such a great company

  6. 6 ROWDY BUSH Registered User

    LOL AMP is nasty, it was nasty way before Jr signed with them, an amp was probably on its way down the pepsi toilet until they signed jr. Red Bull is an awesome sponsor and they sponsor the coolest stuff im glad to see they are starting to get there due in F1, i can onbly imagine the money they dump into that series every year.

  7. 7 ganjadude

    I never even tried amp before jr… and I only bought it for the can….

    Here is the thing though, two of those companies really don’t exist anymore, and the 3rd one is going to fail pretty soon too (pretty soon = about a year).

    As far as the Energy Drink “debate”, I go with Rockstar and it’s various flavors.

  9. 9 ROWDY BUSH Registered User

    I tried Rockstar and it was ok, but I love sugar free red bull

  10. 10 ganjadude

    The only energy drink ive ever been able to drink more than a can has been red bull, I dont waste my time with others any more (red bull cola tastes nasty though)

    red bull and vodka = god ;)

  11. 11 ROWDY BUSH Registered User

    red bull cola is nasty alone, but after along day a red bull cola and jim beam hits the spot

  12. 12 ganjadude

    hmmm… might have to try that one thanks for the idea!

    No worse for you then Coffee (capacuino, espresso, etc), and no worse for you then Lemonade, oragneade, etc, no worse for you then 2% milk.

    I can’t speak for all, only Rockstar but here are some facts.
    It has at least 100% your daily dose of Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12.
    It contains Guarana Seed Extract which has been proven to increase memory retention and alertness.
    It contains L-Carnitine which fights diabetes and improves sperm count, and acts as a weight loss supplement.
    It contains Panex Ginseng Extract which fights diabetes, lessens E.D., has anti-inflammatory effects,
    It contains Milk Thistle Extract which prevents and repairs liver damage, reduces cholesterol, fights diabetes, reduces growth of breast cervical & prostate cancer cells, reduces the effect of a hangover (major plus right there).
    It contains Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract which enhances memory, fights dementia, improves blood flow, protects against blood clots, and several other things.
    It contains acai berry extract (in the Punched: acai berry flavor of Rockstar), which is good for your digestive system and good for weight loss.

  19. 19 RedDevil

    Monster ftw, then Rockstar. Sorry I don’t much care for Red Bull :\

  20. 20 RedDevil

    And anything with Caffeine or Sugar in it, isn’t good for you. :)

    Hmmmm….

    Rockstar 16oz:
    Servings = 2 per container
    Calories = 140
    Fat = 0g
    Sodium = 40mg
    Carbs = 31g
    Vitamin B2 = 3.4mg (200%)
    Vitamin B3 = 20mg (100%)
    Vitamin B5 = 10mg (100%)
    Vitamin B6 = 2mg (100%)
    Vitamin B12 = 6mcg (100%)
    Caffeine = 160mg

    Starbucks Coffee 16oz
    Servings = 1 per container
    Calories = 5*
    Fat = 0g*
    Sodium = 10*
    Carbs = 0*
    Vitamin A = 0%*
    Vitamin C =0 %*
    Calcium = 0%*
    Iron = 0%*
    Caffeine = 300mg
    * = without creamer and sugar

    Let’s see. The energy drink has more Vitamins, and less Caffeine per serving then what most people drink as Coffee. Then you add in Sugar and Creamer and the Coffee does nothing but get worse for you.

    And to get somewhat back on topic, here is a Redbull Racing pitstop done yesterday in NYC in the middle of traffic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZbnR7rKR6k I guess this is how they celebrated Vickers new contract. l0l. Oh and be sure to watch in HD.

    Red Bull has done a lot for racing. They sponsor all types, F1, off road, NASCAR, air racing, you name it and you’ll find a Red Bull sponsored racer. I can’t imagine the amount of money they spend every year on fast stuff. Thanks Red Bull. I’m glad Vickers will have a steady ride for a while. Good for him.
    I’ve never had Rockstar. I’ll have to give it a shot, with the vodka. Sounds like fun.

    What medical website? You posted a link to an opnesource website that anybody can submit articles to, and a link to a blog about coffee.

    Your supposed friend didn’t allegedly die from Energy drinks, he died because he wasn’t healthy. I mean if some 900lb dude dies after eating a White Castle slider, it doesn’t mean the slider is bad for you, it means that the person was too dang lazy to control themselves.

    A doctor isn’t the person you need to talk to, a Nutritionist is. Dr’s are going to tell you what you want to hear so you give them money, heck one who year of medical school is about that.

    You do realize how ridiculously funny it is that you all of the sudden have all these “experts” at your finger-tips to push your little fake agenda.

    Hey guess what if you drink too much water you can die too I guess we should all stop drinking things that contain any water… right?
