Vickers goes to the back after engine change

Brian Vickers earned Red Bull Racing Team’s second pole in the past 16 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races Friday, turning a lap at 183.439 mph during qualifying at Auto Club Speedway. But the celebration didn’t last long, as the No. 83 team was forced to change engines after time trials. They’ll have Saturday’s lone 1-hour, 45-minute practice session to dial in the No. 83 Red Bull Toyota before dropping to the rear in Sunday’s race. It was the sixth career pole and second at the 2-mile track for the 25-year-old Vickers, who also qualified the No. 83 first last Aug. 15 at Michigan.
“I couldn’t ask for much more out of the car,” Vickers said. “Ryan (Pemberton, crew chief) and the guys from the Red Bull team did an amazing job. In this sport — in the Sprint Cup Series — you have to just about have a perfect car and a perfect lap to sit on the pole. “Pit selection is very important, and we’ll be alright there. But it’s a shame we’ll be starting from the back. Having all of that traffic in front of us will be a challenge, but I know we’re all up for it. We have 500 miles to get up there and fight for the win.”
They always run best before they fail.

hehe, so your saying Jimmy Johnson’s engine is next.
Man that really sucks for him. Looks like 2009 is full of mixed emotions for Red Bull Racing.
HA, HA, HA, HA……….Good for him…

It is because when it comes down to it now his engine has about 100 miles (give or take a bit) less on it then every other driver in the field, which means his engine will not have the wear on it that the other engines do, which means there is less likely to be a failure during the race, as well as less overall performance loss, as while he is breaking this engine in, the other drivers will be using already wore engines.
JACK DANIELS, whos laughing now, looks to me Vcikers had a pretty solid night with a top 10 finish. I can certainly thing of a few other drivers that might have taken an engine change before the race and gone to the rear. GOOD GOOD run for Vickers

Your point?
I don’t care where Vickers ended up, good for him.
What is peoples problem out here, Road Runner I am talking to you…
I believe I can answer for myself, but you know what I probably would have answered the same, so I will go with your answer to Rowdy Bush, Rowdy the same answer, good for Vickers and your point being?
The point here is Jack attempting to run his mouth about Vickers going to the back, with your lil HA HA HA good for him, funny thing is when the story came out about Jr going to the back you didnt say the same. Whats even better is Vickers was able to turn his around and other drivers that had to go the back werent able to turn it around. Vickers had a good run and its good to see other drivers having good runs, other then jimmy . kyle or carl or the same guys who are always up front.

Hmmm, I wonder who that reminds me of running his mouth, oh no, it’s not you Rowdy or it’s not Fisha either, you two are innocent angels out here, RIGHT???
The wind must be blowing by your house too…
Jack again you fail to miss the point, the point was you running your mouth about Vickers before you know Jr would have to do the same and got to the back and before Vickers go a top 10 finish. Bottom line is you must be tired trying to trash talk other drivers when Jr fails to back up what you speak.

Like I said before, Hmmm who does that remind people of, oh I know it sounds like Rowdy Bush and Fisha, you two run down drivers more than I ever do, and yes Jr doe’s have bad luck, so doe’s every driver, and yes good for Vickers to start in the back, it will give him more experience to be good someday, LIKE JR…
LOL LOL LOL LOL
Here you go again kissing Jr’s butt again, he’s not that good. Jr is an average driver he has his wins but other then that he has done nothing exceptional. So maybe you should say maybe Vickers will one day be as good as JJ or Edwards or Gordon or Smoke or Kenseth or Mark Martin, to name a few. Like JR said in his interview with DW his results dont match his popularity.
I find it funny how everything you hear about jr, is that he is the most popular driver and has nothing to do with his ability. Maybe one day when JR gets good he will have an article written about him like this.

Now how did I know you were to put shrub on the link, the only thing shrub is good for is constant wrecklessness, he is not good so he has to be wreckless, Jr is somewhat afraid to race hard due to what happened to Sr, I did hear him say that in the past, when he gets over what happened to his Dad he will get up there, not till then, I predict shrubby will die before Jr.
Well if Jr is so scared maybe he should rethink his profession, and since his dads passing the safety measures that have come along are outstanding. Sorda like when Eric Medlin passed and John Force wouldnt let his team race until changes were made. This nonsense of Jr being afraid of his job is like a fireman being afraid of going into a fire.
As for me puttin a “shrubby” article up just more proof of more people talking about how Kyle is a driver, and not about how popular he is. Im starting to see a theme here that more people then just me think Kyle is a BAD A$$ behind the wheel.

Get it right, I didn’t say completely afraid, I said somewhat, which is not very much, maybe he likes treating his equipment good, maybe he isn’t afraid of racing, but he likes to baby his equipment, you get paid either way win or not, it’s just a job to ALL the drivers.
Kyle isn’t a bad@ss, just a dangerous @ss anywhere on the track, he either is going to kill himself one day or someone else, what doe’s that say for your wreckless driver?, can’t be popular or nowhere near good!!!
Sounds like to me you picked up some traits off of him being a arrogant idiot, put that in your pipe and smoke it, like the toyota commercial say’s…
Well funny you say Kyle is reckless especially when you were a Sr fan. So are you telling me Sr. had a safer way of wrecking people? Im sure when Jr turned Vickers in front of the filed going over 200 mph that was safe.
Im sure if Kyle was so dangerous Nascar wouldnt allow him on the track. Sorda like last week when jr couldnt maintain minimum speed, and that is considered dangerous so they Black flagged him.
