Valentino Rossi does not rule out Formula 1 in the future

Six months after turning down a spot in the Ferrari camp, Valentino Rossi has refused to rule out a future switch to the world of F1.
“The F1 chapter is not yet closed,” the 27-year-old MotoGP star told Motards Online on Thursday, after testing double world champion Mika Hakkinen’s Mercedes-Benz DTM car at Hockenheim.
He was about one second per lap slower than a top DTM pilot.
“But I still don’t know at this time whether I’ll ever race on four wheels,” Rossi added.
Rossi, however - who failed to win the premier two-wheeled championship in 2006 - also claimed that he does not regret his decision to stick to motorbikes at least for now.
“Ferrari’s offer was a great one,” the Italian was quoted by Sport-Informations-Dienst as saying, “but I am highly motivated for the next season in MotoGP - particularly after my difficult time in ‘06.”
Rossi will drive a Subaru in New Zealand’s round of the World Rally championship later this month.
He said: “I want to find out whether I like it and whether I am good enough.”
