F1Turkey’s motor racing federation has asked the FIA if it can now withdraw an appeal to the outstanding $2.5 million owing for politicising the Grand Prix this year in Istanbul.

The governing body on Tuesday confirmed TOSFED’s (Turkiye Otomobil Sporlari Federasyonu) request, but merely said that judges of the Court of Appeal ‘will consider’ it at an upcoming hearing.

The appeal was to be heard on November 7.

Organisers of the Turkish Grand Prix, Motor Sporlari ve Organizasyon (MSO), last week paid half of the record $5 million fine.
