Speed and Liuzzi Likely to Stay at Toro Rosso
Quote selected text Published August 26th, 2006 in MainScott Speed and Tonio Liuzzi are likely to carry on as drivers at Toro Rosso next season. Rumoured for some time, team co-owner Gerhard Berger reiterated his view at the Friday press conference ahead of Sunday’s Turkish Grand Prix.
“They are both young, both inexperienced - Tonio a little bit further than Scott, but still both very green,” Berger explained. “I think under these circumstances they are doing quite a good job.”
Liuzzi, 25, finished eighth in the United States Grand Prix scoring the teams very first point since been taking over by Red Bull last year. Speed, 23 has a best finish of ninth this season in Australia.
“It’s not finally decided but we are quite happy with both of them,” Berger continued. “We think next year they are going to be more stable and give us back some of what they learned this year.”
