Michael Schumacher, 37, continues to add to his amazing range of Formula One records. Schumacher won the French Grand Prix for the eighth time, making him the first driver ever to win a country’s Grand Prix eight times. He also added to his overall victory record, which now stands at 88, and his overall pole record, which now stands at 68.

In 243 starts, he has now finished on the podium 150 times. Seven of those podiums have come in the United States Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he has won five times and finished second twice.

Asked if he thinks 100 Grand Prix victories are possible, Schumacher said it was a case of wait and see.

“Find out,” he said.

I’ll be back: Although Ferrari has won the last two races, in the United States and France, World Championship points leader Fernando Alonso thinks he and his Renault team will bounce back. He points out that Michael Schumacher won back-to-back races earlier this year in the San Marino and European Grands Prix, and that did not stop Renault. “At that point, Ferrari seemed to have more development than anybody else, and everybody thought that they would win all the races,” Alonso said. “And then we won four consecutive races. Hopefully this will happen again from the next race on.”

Again, a product of a good team…average driver.

Put Raikkonen in that car and Alonso never touches him
