I have been a member of SCCA for 20 years now and have been at Road America more times than I can count. There was one year, I believe about 10 years ago during my dad’s Formula Vee race in April that a fellow driver hit a deer. The deer landed inside the cockpit and left the driver in critical condition. He suffered brain injury and as far as I know he has never returned to the racing scene. It’s ubsurd how the deer have no sense of fear, even with cars on track. It’s a real tragedy. I wish Christiano a speedy recovery!
