Renault confirm Red Bull deal, Piquet test

(GMM) Renault has confirmed speculative reports that it has concluded a customer engine deal for 2007 and 2008 with the energy drink Red Bull.

A statement explained: ”Red Bull GmBH will confirm at a later date which of its teams (Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso) will use Renault engines during the 2007 season.”

French squad Renault also announced on Friday that newly signed 2007 test driver Nelson Piquet Jr is to make his team debut over three days next week at Silverstone (UK).
