Sports daily Marca says this year’s MP4-21, with Pedro de la Rosa at the wheel, was running in the new colours at Jerez for a television advertisement for new title sponsor Vodafone.
It is reported that the car, still including silver and chrome in deference to its German engine partner, notably features the colour red more predominantly than this year on the engine cover.
Dutch magazine Formule 1 RaceReport, meanwhile, suggests that the Marca photograph shows de la Rosa driving only an on-track evaluation of one possible livery for 2007.
The final paint-job will be unveiled at Valencia in mid-January.
