When the checkered flag flew over the 2006 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford campaign, the on track action for rookie stand out Katherine Legge may have come to an end, but her commitment to represent Champ Car off track did not end by any means. On Wednesday, December 6th the First Lady of Champ Car will be a featured guest at a reception starting at 5:00 pm at the SAE (Society for Automotive Engineers) Motorsports Engineering Conference.
In addition to Legge, Champ Car will also be represented by the man behind the new Panoz DP01 chassis which will be used exclusively by the Champ Car World Series in 2007. Champ Car Technology Director, Scot Elkins will share his experiences in developing the new chassis as panelist in “Race Car Design: Partnering for Progress” on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Along with Legge and Elkins, there will be a variety of motorsports professionals participating in the conference including: Professor E. S. Watkins, President, FIA Institute for Motor Sport Safety, International Motorsports Hall of Famer Bobby Rahal, NHRA’s Don Taylor, Nick Hayes of Richard Childress Racing, as well as two of SAE’s most famous members, Neil Ressler and Peter Wright.
