Jean Todt said Saturday he wants to stay in charge of the Italian team but wouldn’t be drawn on whether Michael Schumacher will be alongside him.

Todt also denied that Finland’s Kimi Raikkonen, currently at McLaren, had signed a pre-contract to replace seven-time world champion Schumacher who has been tipped to announce his retirement at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza next weekend.

“If I had to choose today, I’d stay at Ferrari,” Todt told le Journal du Dimanche. On Raikkonen, Todt said: “No-one has signed a pre-contract, it doesn’t exist. ”

Todt wouldn’t comment on Schumacher’s future although the team is expected to announce its 2007 line-up at Monza next weekend.
