Lewis Hamilton experienced a frustrating start to his Formula One career today when a mechanical problem with his McLaren forced an early interruption to the Barcelona test.
Hamilton’s car ground to a halt along the home straight prompting a red flag and a temporary halt.
Hamilton resumed to complete 22 laps before lunch, half the number recorded by McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa, who topped the early time sheets with a lap a second quicker than Hamilton’s best.
