Twice world champion Mika Hakkinen says he might return to Formula One some day - as a manager.
The Finn, who entered the sport’s pinnacle with the guidance of countryman and 1982 world champion Keke Rosberg, told Welt that he can envisage doing a similar thing for an up-and-coming driver.
But the DTM racer cautioned: “I do not feel ready for that yet. If I do it, I would want to do it properly.”
Hakkinen said being a driver-manager is a ‘big responsibility’ that some take on without recognising the importance of doing it right.
“If in three years you decide you have had enough, you could have ruined someone’s whole career,” he added.
