Turkey will appeal its $5 million fine at a hearing of the FIA’s Court of Appeal next month.
A statement issued by F1’s governing body on Monday confirmed that the Paris hearing was organised after the Turkish sports federation TOSFED lodged an appeal regarding the punishment handed down for the controversial podium ceremony in August.
The appeal will be heard on November 7, with a decision expected the following day.
It was suggested recently that organisers of the Istanbul event baulked at the severity of the monetary fine and the time limits imposed for payment, rather than the guilty verdict itself.
