Alonso accuses Renault for sabotaging his title hopes

Fernando Alonso has accused his Renault team of not helping him to win the 2006 drivers’ championship.
To the Spanish press, the 25-year-old reckoned the French squad - to lose Alonso to McLaren at the end of the season - is focusing instead on the constructors’ title, now led by Renault after the 2-3 finish in China.
Evidence of Renault’s lack of interest in putting Spaniard Alonso on the top step of the podium might be Sunday’s strategy and pit errors.
AS newspaper quoted Alonso as saying: “They wanted us to finish second and third because they do not want me to take the number one to a different team. ”
He said there is ‘no doubt’ that the constructors’ championship is therefore more important to Renault in 2006, and added that only ’some’ in blue and yellow uniforms were disappointed to lose the Chinese Grand Prix to Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher.
“Some others are happy,” Alonso continued, “because we went past Ferrari in the team battle. They are not helping me as much as they could.”

Cry me a river. Its a team sport. He knew what he was getting into. Obviously another win on Alonso’s stats isn’t necessary for the team’s/manufacturer’s success. I would be pissed too, though.
Does Alonso actually have a neck, or is it just a head sitting on shoulders?
Ya I have to kind of agree with Alonzo. I watched the last half of that race, and it just seemed to fishy that the renault team was putting down the fastest laps up until then (low 41 seconds). And then all of the sudden out of the blue their cars “fail” and Schumacher just flies by them and starts putting down 39’s. It just didnt sit right with me. It felt like something was up.
I think Alonso is finally showing some personality this year, he is outspoken and fighting for his championship life!
He has also called Micheal the least sporting driver, and said F1 is show where all the drivers take their places!
Good for him, now he needs to go out and drive to win!
