IRL team owner and IndyCar legend A.J. Foyt is scheduled to have his left knee replaced with an artificial knee on Monday following the race at Richmond.
“My knee’s gotten so bad that I can’t wait until the season is over to have it done,” said Foyt. “I’ve been putting it off for about five years now but I can’t do that anymore.”
The ensuing rehabilitation means that Foyt will miss both the Kansas and Nashville race events.
