Taylor Earnhardt completes first runs in RCR No 3 Chevy at Goodwood

Dale EarnhardtTaylor Earnhardt, daughter of Dale and Teresa Earnhardt, completed two hillclimb runs in the first day of the 17th annual Goodwood Festival of Speed driving the Richard Childress Racing #3 GM Goodwrench Chevy. The Goodwood Festival of Speed is held on the grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex, a place of significant British motorsports history.

This year’s gathering includes a number of NASCAR stock cars in honor of the 50th anniversary of Daytona International Speedway that will participate in both demonstration and competition runs up the nine-turn, 1.16-mile hillclimb circuit. The car was prepared and is being taken care of at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by former #3 team crew members Danny Lawrence and Rich Burgess.

Lawrence is currently the assistant head engine builder/trackside manager for Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engines and Burgess is the shop manager for RCR’s #31 Caterpillar team in the NSCS.

Shouldn’t Taylor Earnhardt be the Danika Patrick of NASCAR? Will she live up to the name?

I’d love to see her get the racing bug and have the tenacity and talent her late father had! Now that would the woman to break down all the barriers in NASCAR.

I heard some time ago that the Earnhardt kids(Jr., Kerry and Kelly) were racing and that Kelly was the best of the three. It would be really great if the next outstanding Earnhardt was daughter Taylor.

I don’t know about Kerry, but I know that when Jr and Kelly were younger and doing testing in latemodels/streetstocks and stuff like that, that Kelly was almost always faster then Jr. And not like just a .001 faster, like a .5 faster.

Actually the movie you’re thinking of is “3″ (the ESPN one), Dale was the one with all the home movies. And know I believe a person I know who grew up (and still is) being friends with JR and Kelly.
