Tony StewartNASCAR Sprint Cup points leader Tony Stewart has crashed his primary car in practice at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The two-time series champion crashed hard on Friday during the opening practice for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301, badly damaging his No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet.

Stewart was not injured. The team quickly prepared his backup car and Stewart was able to get back onto the 1.058-mile oval for some practice before Friday’s qualifying for the race Sunday.
