Speed will present a special one-hour edition of “The Speed Report” on the life of former NASCAR Chairman Bill France Jr. at 8 p.m. EDT today in the wake of his death today at the age of 74.

“Very few leaders in American sports earn the title of visionary, but NASCAR’s Bill France Jr. certainly was one of the elite few who delivered on his vision of the future, leaving a true signature on the sport of NASCAR,” Speed President Hunter Nickell said in a statement. “He was a true giant in the world of motorsports, and Speed joins the NASCAR family in mourning his loss.
