Nemecheck to drive at Indy in the #08

Joe NemechekThe #08 Team announces “Front Row Joe” Nemechek will drive the #08 car at Indy in the Allstate 400 for John Carter and EM Motorsports this weekend. Race Week Media is still searching for primary sponsorship for the car, but are confident of success with all of the support Nemechek fans are expressing.

It was just over a week ago that it was announced the launch of the #08 Team and the momentum has been remarkable. The cars were loaded into the hauler late Wednesday night in Toccoa, Georgia for the ride to Indianapolis and are ready for Saturday’s qualifying.

Dale Sr. was like a brother to Joe. After he won his Busch title in the early 1990’s, he thought about starting his own Cup team. Dale helped Joe turn that dream into a reality. Dale hooked him up with Burger King. Burger King was an associate sponsor of Dale’s. Joe didn’t do so bad either. Then when Joe was in danger of losing his sponsorship deal, he merged with Felix Sabates. Joe has had ample opportunities to further his Cup career but has stumbled too many times for his own good. He still became a fairly big star. He is his own worst enemy. He still has a Busch team sitting idle. No one will beat down his door trying to sign him either. He’s at the Brickyard because Andretti had prior commitments. Not many Busch champs become Cup stars or champs. Bobby Labonte, Junior and Harvick are the ones that first come to mind. Not Jeff or David Green, Scott Riggs or Nemechek. I will never feel sorry for a millionaire.

Joe will have to be on the front row in his livingroom Sunday.
