XM Satellite RadioClaire B. Lang, the celebrated on-air host currently on XM’s NASCAR Radio channel, has entered into a new, multi-year agreement with XM.

Claire’s fans will continue to hear her daily, three-hour racing show each weekday afternoon on XM. Claire will anchor her show on XM Channel 144 from 4-7 p.m. ET daily. Starting in January 2007, channel 144 will become XM’s newly-launched sports talk channel XM Sports Nation. Look for exciting new announcements about Claire’s show in the coming months leading up to the start of the 2007 season.

Claire is revered among motorsports fans for her knowledge and passion for the sport, as well as her strong rapport with NASCAR drivers. She joins NASCAR superstars Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Jimmie Johnson, the sport’s reigning champion, as on-air hosts of shows exclusively on XM Sports Nation.

“Integrity, respect and the fair telling of the stories of this sport to the loyal fans who follow it are truly what matter most to me,” Lang said. “I am proud of having been a part of XM and channel 144 from the beginning and am staying at XM where the sport’s first satellite radio channel came to life. I look forward to continuing to give both the casual and long-time race fans more than they expect each and every day that I get behind the microphone. I am inspired by the challenge to continue to transport listeners to places they have never gone before as I take coverage of this sport on the road again - now on an even larger sports platform.”

Claire will continue her afternoon racing show as well as expand her reach hosting unique specials and in-depth features across XM programming.

“NASCAR fans love Claire because she knows the sport, she’s passionate about the sport, and she gets the candid answers to the big questions,” said Eric Logan, executive vice president, programming, XM Satellite Radio. “We put the fans first, and the fans want Claire. She has become a breakout star over the last five years on XM, and we’re thrilled that she’ll be on XM for years to come. It’s all part of our commitment to covering motorsports every single day on XM Radio.”

XM is the sports leader in satellite radio with more than 5,000 live play-by-play sports broadcasts in 2007, including IndyCar Series Racing, Major League Baseball, NBA games on ESPN Radio, National Hockey League, PGA Tour, college football and basketball, plus the most sports talk on XM Sports Nation, ESPN Radio, ESPNews, and Fox Sports Radio.

Glad to hear it. I haven’t talked w/Claire in a while. I have several XM radios and will be able to continue to listen to the show I tuned in most for on XM, Claire’s show!

I am really glad you are still with XM. I don’t know who I should be mad at, XM or NASCAR for switching to Sirus. I suspect that many of us chose XM over the years, primarily because they had NASCAR. Now with no warning or explanation they switch.
I suspect NASCAR is the culprint in this and that more money is the reason as that is behind every thing they do these days. I attended my first race at Darlington in 57 and having grown up in Eastern NC, have been a NASCAR fan for years, but they are beginning to test me.
Your program is great, keep up the good work and please let me know if you know the answer to my question.

Glad you reuped with XM. Although I do not like the scheduling being done on the new 144, I guess I will have to try to find a way to record you. I was always able to listen to your broadcasts the next day on “rewind” time. I have been trying to find why they are not rebroadcast again at a day time. I understand the rebroadcast will be 12:00 until 3:00. Any chance of a day time rebroadcast in the future? Oh, just to let you know, I can live with “that other satellite radio” getting the race broadcast, but can’t live without hearing you great shows. I love the way you get into the real issues with the teams and drivers, Nascar officials, etc. Your doing a great job. Thanks for caring about the fans.

Where has Claire been for the last 2 weeks? I usually listen to her “replay” show overnight from 12:00am - 3:00am and it hasn’t been on for the last couple of weeks. Is she still on in the afternoon?
