Waltrip waiting on Reutimann and sponsors for the No 00

Michael Waltrip says that while he is still waiting to hear back from Burger King and Domino’s about sponsoring the #00 Michael Waltrip Racing Nextel Cup Toyota next year, he has offered current driver David Reutimann a multi-year contract. Reutimann is taking a week to 10 days to mull it over.
Waltrip hopes that Reutimann and the sponsors see his hiring of Dr. Eric Warren as technical director as a sign that he is committed and has the financial stability to get his fledgling program to perform more consistently. Warren has a doctorate in aerospace engineering and used to be with Evernham Motorsports. Waltrip said he will field three Sprint Cup cars and at least one car in what is now known as the Busch Series next year. Warren will serve as technical director and oversee the building of the cars to keep them the same across the three.

- Waltrip Racing to announce third driver soon
- Dominos, Burger King won’t return as primary sponsors at MWR
- Reutimann’s car to have both sponsors at Nextel Open
- Reutimann could stay at MWR or go to RCR
