Wallace, Busch trade barbs following Richmond Nationwide race

Kyle Busch and Steve Wallace first made contact on the track, then disparaged one another off of it at Richmond International Raceway Saturday night.
The two were battling for position on the final lap of the NASCAR Nationwide Series Lipton Tea 250 when Wallace got a run coming off Turn 2 then went on to hit Busch’s Braun Racing Toyota.
That incensed Busch, who felt that Wallace should have gone around him instead of making contact.
“Steven Wallace got a better run off the corner than I did and instead of pulling out and passing, he hit me in the back end and jacked me up, jacked me sideways and luckily I was able to straighten it out and get in Turn 3 behind him and he probably knew I was going to spin him up so he moved up the track and let me go by him,” Busch said. “And we came home third and instead of him passing me clean and ending up third, he ended up fifth. Just being an idiot. So I went up and I told him, you mess with the bull, you’re going to get the horns. I didn’t appreciate what he did, so I told him what I thought about it. You can get hurt very easily here.”
Wallace offered his own version of events.
“I don’t know what he was saying, but I jerked him by the helmet just to rattle his cage a little bit and just to tell him I wasn’t happy with it,” said the Rusty Wallace Racing driver, who earned a career-best fifth-place finish in the race. “He’s just a little girl about it. I’d say it’s pretty bad when they call drivers introduction, everybody in the grandstands boos you.”

He said that no punches were thrown, but that Busch was obviously mad. Wallace seemed to think that Busch was making a big deal out of nothing.
“He’s just a big tall big-ear loser, I guess,” he said. “don’t know what his deal is. He just got mad because I got in the back of him. Rubbing is racing here at the short track. I was racing as hard as I could, got in the back of him a little bit. And that’s racing. Sorry.”
- Harold Holly new crew chief for Steve Wallace
- Wallace to drive Germain’s No 7 Nationwide entry
- Richmond Nationwide race bumped from ESPN on Friday
- Earnhardt, Jr ready to make a trade for a win at Martinsville
- Kenny Wallace to drive No 28 Nationwide car for rest of season

Just goes to show how big a jerk Busch is. He can wreck all the cars he wants but when someone does it to him he gets mad and threatens them. Throw him out of the Nationwide Series.
Isn’t Steven the one that got Rolled in a 7-11 out in Indy last year? l0l
Honestly I think Wallace comes out looking juvenile here with the comments he’s making.
However I have to say the 4 of us in the Garage working on our race car got a good laugh out of the comment Kyle made about messing with the bull and getting the horns….. l0l
Kyle is beginning to look more and more like Dale Earnhardt. Some love him, and some hate him.
He is almost the perfect example of the celebrity “If they had a kid” between Dale Sr and DW.
l0l
Lets compare Dale Sr and Shrub when Shrub has 7 championships!
The kid is good BUt he’s got a big chip on his shoulder(just like his brother did)Where is Spencer when you need him
My hat’s off to Wallace. I just wish he was out of the car so he could have taken a full swing at the punk. I would gladly pay his fine.
I’ve met Steve Wallace, he is one of the biggest jerks I’ve ever met. Made Stewart look friendly….If he was the driver he thinks he is, he would have won a race by now.
I think it would be fair to Kyle to have the Earnhardt comparison when he’s in his mid thirties, since Earnhardt wasn’t in cup at 18 like Kyle was. Although I don’t think he will have seven championships, could see him competing with the number of wins. The competition is too great for anyone to get seven championships these days!

What is it that the people that use that as an excuse do not understand, Dale Sr did not always have 7 championships, Dale Sr did not always have the bump and run perfected, and most of all Dale Sr did not always have the nice guy “Thanks for a good hard run” attitude.
Maybe you and the other people that say that are only 14-15 years old and you have not taken the time to watch old races so maybe you just think that Sr always had those 7 championship and his attitude and skills from the time he sat in the 2 car, but that was not the case.
And I guess using your logic We can’t say Sr was/is the best driver in NASCAR because he doesn’t have 200 wins, or even 105, 84, 83 or 81 and It doesn’t look like he’ll be getting any more any time soon, So then I guess by your logic he was not the greatest but (as of know) 6th best.
that should be now not know.

Dear Fishy,
I am not 14 or 15, I am 44 and I was watching racing when you were a tingle in your daddies balls! I watched Dale win the majority or those wins and championships so save your preaching for someone who has not been around.
Mys statement is a fair one. Shrub has won a few races but is not to the point that he can be compared to Dale Sr. You are still a punki!

DID YOU EVEN READ MY COMMENT? DID I MENTION WINS? NO! I COMPARED CHAMPIONSHIPS!
Wow too posts to make too stupid points. Of course he did not win 7 championships as 10 Shrub is racing with more stout competition then Sr ever did, and 2) Shrub has not even been racing in Cup for 7 years.
Heck if you notice NOBODY is comparing his championships besides you, we are comparing his driving style. Open your eyes and stop living in your sheltered world where some dead race car driver is God and his youngest Son is the second coming.
Its fans like you who ruin NASCAR for the real fans of Racing.
BTW that should be Two not too.

It is a violation of the rules to correct anyones grammar or spelling!!!

2) Shrub has not even been racing in Cup for 7 years. My point exactly!!!!!! Once he wins a few championships you can compare him to a seven time champion stupid.

Umm I’m pretty sure Kenneth would not have a problem with me correcting My own spelling mistake

No I can compare Shrubs first 3 years (2006, 2007, and 2008) to Srs first 3 years (1975, 1976, and 1977)

Now that is funny! Your first post did not mention specific years!
Here’s a comparison I would like to see….Knowing Earnhardt got a good portion of his victories by utilizing the “bump and run”, which is really a cheap shot. I don’t recall many instances where Kyle has done that. Granted, rubbin is racin, but I saw Earnhardt do that allot. Just ask Terry Labonte….
Sam The first quote you quoted from me is not comparing them at all.
can we have at least one thread without mentioning the name earnhardt?? im gonna take a WILD guess and say no.
To bad I didn’t get in on this earlier, looks like fun.lol.
Does anyone else besides me think it was funny that Kyle Busch called Steven a boy in a man’s world? He just turned 23 yesterday and now he’s older and wiser? (lol) And the bull and horns line was funny too. I remember the old line ” There’s nothing but steers and queers and I don’t see any horns!” I bet Kyle peed in his pants when Steven yanked his helmet. And if you watch closely, there are about 5 other guys in green shirts yanking at Kyle and yelling at Steven. One of the biggest chicken poop moves is going after or confronting a guy buckled into a race car because he can’t hardly defend himself. But Steven got Kyle’s attention by yanking his helmet. Two rockheads. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Hey Sam you best go to the JR/IRL story because somebody compared Raplhy boy to his dad, but they aren’t allowed to do that because Jr didn’t win 7 championships so you better go jump all over them for that…….
As far as bush goes to me he causes alot of problems, and and wont take no credit for it.I dont know why punks cant man up for the problaims they cause, oh another thing that gets me is how dw and hamin seem to take little man side in alot of thing bush does …. with buses attitude its a wonder some one any one has not stomped his behind so nowonder not to many people think much of him and his aditude and not alot of personality…
Ditto Donna
It must have been aweful hard to grow up in the Busch household in order for both of them to turn into such jerks. Most families have one kid thats a little rough but to have two jerks like that in the same family says alot about the family.

I do believe Kyle Busch said a whole lot more than what you printed here about grabbing the bull by the horns, let’s be fair. I watched all & tapes on tv as well. It also appeared to me that Kyle Busch was threatening Wallace so to speak, like he better watch out…rewind and reveiw. I don’t blame Wallace especially since it was racing and he did get up out of his way, moved aside so MR. STAR cup driver could do some more of his charging and running over everyone else in the field, look at me I am the ONE AND ONLY. Kyle the big star that he is should not have approached Steven in the first place, this would not have happened at all. So he went after him in the car like look at me I am a star I am on TV. I am King, do not mess with me or I will take care of you…get it. So what would you do if this punk stuck his face in your car threatening you….just my veiw. How do you know what Kyle said to him in the car if you were not in the car? But again we know what was said on TV …roll the tapes. As for Kyle period why does he have to make such a big cry baby deal, he says he is not racing for points so why is he down in the Nationwide taking all the points from the Nationwide regular kids and other drivers who are not in cup….I have always felt that it should be for the Nationwide drivers only and the money and championships as well. Pure greed and domination. I am sure someone is going to say well it gives Nationwide young drivers the chance to prove what they can do challenging the cup drivers to show their talent…maybe but the bottom line is promoters fill their pockets with the cup drivers appearances and fans see them at half price tickets. Some day Kyle Busch will realize their will be another kid on the block better than him and he won’t be superboy anymore! Cudos to Steve Wallace good luck racing and good job with the top five.
One thing,at least schrub didn’t take after his brother and crash into Steven on the track or on pit road putting others in danger, but then again maybe he couldn’t find him.
kyle is a prissy little punk with an attitude bigger than his ears. I just wish they’d let Chrissy Wallace knock some of that snot nosed crap out of him so the rest of NASCAR wouldn’t have to put up with him anymore, nor listen to DW talk so darn much about him.
