Toyota to issue warning to its teams regarding cheating

Toyota isn’t merely resting on an apology from Michael Waltrip Racing for circumventing the NASCAR rulebook. Company officials are expected to send a letter out to all Toyota teams next week stating Waltrip’s organization has used two of the company’s three strikes. The next team that crosses the line will face the loss of the manufacturer’s support.
Pemberton was emphatic this was a team issue and not a Toyota issue. While embarrassed over the incident, Toyota officials insisted they would maintain a relationship with MWR.
NASCAR chairman Brian France and president Mike Helton were among those who met with Waltrip and officials from Michael Waltrip Racing early Wednesday.
The parade of people to the NASCAR hauler included Waltrip, general manager Ty Norris and several representatives from TRD.
Lee White, the senior vice president for TRD, said TRD worked with NASCAR throughout the process.
“I can honestly tell you from an ethics standpoint and integrity, along with character and honesty, those things are paramount in our company,” he said. “We hold ourselves to a high standard and we hold our teams to high standards. We hope we’ve picked the right ones.”

Cheating and NASCAR go hand in hand. The trick is cheating just enough to not get caught.
I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE THINKING OF THOSE THAT SAY TOYOTA SHOULD NOT BE IN THE SPORT.
IF CHEVY/FORD/DODGE HAVE SUCH A GOOD PRODUCT , THEN LET THEM PROVE IT, TO ALL COMPANIES OUT THERE .
LET TOYOTA RACE , LET THE OTHERS PROVE THERE BETTER. TOYOTA IS NOT AFFRAIDTO TEST THERE PRODUCTS AGAINST THEM , SO WHY ARE THE OTHERS AFRAID TO RACE THEM.
COME ON YOU WISH TO SEE SMALL TEAMS SHOW UP AND TRY TO GET INTO THE RACES THEN PULL OUT AFTER THE RACE STARTS. ATLEST THE TOYOTA TEAMS WILL NOT DO THAT , THEY WILL RACE THE WHOLE RACE.
TA ALL WHO THINK TOTOTA SHOULD NOT RACE THEN KEEP YOUR MIND CLOSED AND STOP COMPLANING ABOUT RULE CHANGES AND THE LIKE. WHY DON’T YOU JUST MAKE YOUR OWN RACE TEAMS AND GO OUT ON YOUR OWN.. OH YA YOU CAN’T DO IT BECOUSE YOU DON’T KNOW HOW OR YOU WON’T TAKE THE CHANCE , AND GO BROKE. LET TOYOTA RACE FORCE THE OTHER TEAM TO OUT RACE THEM…..
Needless to say Toyota isn’t going to win over any die-hard fans this way. The folks who have watched NASCAR for a while now are obviously unimpressed by this back-handed maneuver on Michael Waltrip’s part, and as a result it reflects on Toyota and NAPA Auto Parts. What’s worse is that MWR is something of the flagship Toyota team, and for the 55 to have qualified 25th before NASCAR confiscated the car, it isn’t saying much for Toyota’s Cup program, in my opinion.
Toyota is a waste.
RC there is not need for comments like that. Toyota has proven their worth in many more sports than the top 3 than any other manufacture.
