Kyle Busch - ToyotaToyota Racing Development President Lee White said he was “extremely disappointed” in NASCAR’s decision to alter the spacer applied to Toyota’s Nationwide Series engine, which will result in lost horsepower.

“In our opinion, there is no technical justification to penalize the Toyota engine utilized in the Nationwide Series,” White said in a statement released Wednesday evening. “The success of the Toyota Camry this year in the Nationwide Series is the result of hard work and achievement by all of our race teams … working in conjunction with [Toyota Racing Development].”

White said the manufacturer will work with its teams to make sure they remain competitive despite the setback. He warned that NASCAR’s decision “could be more far-reaching than simply mandating Toyota adjust its Nationwide engine.”

“The real impact will be felt by the Toyota teams as they adjust to the change, work to remain competitive for the remainder of this season and attempt to line up their sponsorships for next year,” he said.

Ok so Penalize Toyota and now they have to Penalize Chevy and Ford because now they have more HP then Toyota and Dodge…….

I’m going to literally LMA0 if Shrub and Vickers and Denny and Joey continue to dominate every nationwide race they enter.

  3. 3 Andrew

They will continue to dominate because
they are an organization of good people
who will be able to put this behind them.
Plus, I think much of their success is due to chassis
    not engines. Thats my opinion

  4. 4 Andy

O.k. I really believe they have something. THose toyotas can
last bounce off the wall take run on old tires and have more
power than all the rest. SO if they are stretching the rules
cut the power . Question : are they cheating or just building a
better mouse trap ? Because the whole idea is to build a better
motor. If , NOT , cheating as much as I hate shrub u cannot lize
penalize HOrsePower. SOunds like nascar found something and is
    keeping it quiet to me.

W T F I am not andy and half what I posted got screwed up.
Well u get the idea I think toyota has something and nascar
Is keeping the details quiet. So curious what they decided
    and how they decided.

JGR runs a whole different front end than the rest of the teams, the components they use are not like any of the other cars and it has been a big factor besides the HP. it has been something like what the Hendrick teams have been working with but just hasn’t gotten it where they are yet.

I take exception to the claim that “they are an organization of good people”. I wouldn’t trust my dogs with scrub or denny (Smoke would probably put them to work…). They are incredibly selfish, childish, arrogant children who can wheel a racecar, but the last term I would use is ‘good people’. I know that the perception of Joe is that of a Christian man, but the clowns he has as the face of JGR I could do without.

Joe is a great guy and JGR has a lot of great people there. But JD is crap, Tony never got along with him. Denny and Kyle, well Bobby summed that up one day as having to compare it to an adult day school program

    I have a question for everybody…

At a given race, with a great driver, would you rather have…

The best handling car or the car with the strongest motor?

I would take the one that handles any day. This isn’t so much a Toyota thing. It’s a Gibbs thing. But since Gibbs races Toyota’s, everyone has to complain until NASCAR makes a knee-jerk rule to fix it.

Gibbs is better this year, they don’t have an advantage, they are just better.

NASCAR just gave the advantage to the other teams.

Too bad though, because Gibbs is still better.

Toyota had the same engine treatment that Dodge had when they came back. NASCAR gave them one of each of the current engines (for Toyota it was the 2005-2006 engines) and NASCAR said “Build an Engine that can compete with these engines”.

    Well I think they accomplished that… l0l

We all know Jack Roush had a hand in this because he’s not winning…..I swear him and Bruton Smith are CANCERS in this sport and needs to go, QUICK!!! And Howie, I had no idea JD doesn’t get along with the drivers, even Tony??

Rusty Wallace attack on Toyota engines on TV created a Robin Pemberton Reaction. Which was a cheap shot ruling concern 15hps. When if ever was a ruling by NASCAR in the midlle of a season concerning 15 hp. Robin Pemberton is in Rusty Wallace stable. Anyone should know this now. Rusty taking 15hp away from Toyota will not make Steve Wallace a winner. Steve simply does not have the driving skills or the mental capability to be a race car winning driver.

sounds like jealousy to me!! Toyota builds a better product, then the others just cry and run back to mommy (NASCAR). If that’s the only way Chevy and Ford can win, then I’ve lost all respect for them.

by how loud they cry about it. If Chevy had 851 and Toyota had 849, then it’s totally fine. Vice versa, something is wrong, let’s change it. There’s NO way a Toyota can be better than a domestic brand. That’s just so NASCAR!
