JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing On the sixth-place finish: “It was a little war of attrition. We wanted to stay on the track and knew if we did that, we’d come away with a good finish. Our car was good enough to run up with the leaders late in the race. It took us a while to tighten it up, but in the last couple runs we got it going pretty good.”
On the race’s impact on the standings: “This race was good for us no matter what. We’ll just keep digging and hopefully put a few more good finishes together. The team has been working hard the whole season, and it’s good to get a finish indicative of how are car has been running.”
DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing On his first road course start: “I definitely learned a lot out there. We probably had a better car than the driver that was sitting in it. The guys did a good job plugging away, keeping me motivated and giving me good advice. We had to run off the track one time to avoid that, but other than that we stayed on course, and they told me if I kept clean, I would come home with a top-15.
On building momentum: “It feels good to get a decent finish down here. You don’t come here to run 15th, but I think it was a good effort by the whole team. I felt pretty good in the car and I think I’m back to 100 percent. We’ll go to Las Vegas and hope we can do a little bit better.
DAVE BLANEY, No. 10 Fan1st.com Toyota Camry, Braun Racing On his race: “We just couldn’t run good at all. We couldn’t turn that well, but we salvaged a pretty good finish and we were pretty lucky to get out of here 13th. We never could get the car right, but late in the race, everybody seemed to be running into each other. I had some pretty good guys behind me that didn’t run into me and I was able to avoid the cars in front of me. I just tried to stay on the track and bring the car home in one piece.
