JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
On qualifying: “Our car is really good but I think I might have pushed the car a little too much in qualifying. We’ll be good tomorrow for the race. The track is slick but that isn’t something I can point to because the other guys are just as fast. We were a little loose and free out there, but we should be fine come tomorrow.”
DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing On his qualifying effort:
“We ran about as fast as we expected. We have to get into the race tomorrow and see what happens. The big thing tomorrow is to keep it on the track. That will be my main goal. I’ve learned quite a bit about how to drive these cars on a road course but it will be a different deal when all the cars are out there battling in the race tomorrow.” On the pre-qualifying engine change: “The motor was running fine, but we just found something that could’ve been a problem later and we didn’t want to take any chances. The power here seems to be good and I think the Camry will be good in the race tomorrow.”
DAVE BLANEY, No. 10 Fan1st.com Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
On the qualifying run: “That’s about all we expected to get out of the car for qualifying. We only ran one lap on the car in yesterday’s late session, so we weren’t quite sure what we’d have for today. We still have to make a few changes during the first couple of pit stops tomorrow to make it better. We wanted to get three or four good laps and get a feel for how it’s going to go. We were loose in the left-handers and tight in the right-handers, but that’s a common thing. It’s tough to find the balance where the car likes to turn both ways. We have some things to look at and some things to work on, but I think we’ll be fine.”
