Tony Stewart grabs Nationwide victory at Daytona

Tony Stewart’s hoping to go 2-for-2 at Daytona this weekend, beating Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch to win Saturday’s season-opening Nationwide race. Next up - the Daytona 500.
Sunday, Gibbs Racing once again will take the Hendrick Motorsports approach - teamwork.
It certainly worked Saturday for pole-winner Stewart.
“We worked with each other the whole race. That’s something that, you know, we’ve learned that from the Hendrick guys,” Stewart said. “And it just shows if you get two of these guys to work with each other, Kyle and I can - I think Kyle and I could have stayed up front all day no matter how many guys challenged.”
Dale Earnhardt Jr., who had won his first two races driving for Hendrick Motorsports, was third.

Aw shucks those dang Toyotas won . Congrats Tony, hope you can carry it over to tomorrow!
This was a good race with a great finish. It looked like Junior had a little something for Tony at the end but couldn’t quite get there. All the Toyotas were fast. It looks like it’s gonna be an exciting season.
If Tony gets any fatter they’ll have to reframe that window of his for sure. What’s funny is that he is on a Subway commercial about Jarred keeping it off for 10yrs. Haha look how big he’s got. fat ba*tard
Tony Still eats subway he just eats the good stuff not those Veggie subs that Jarred eats.
i still dont think its right that 16 out of the top 20 cars were cup guys… not fair to the rest of the drivers that just run bush… er… nationwide

It’s Daytona and it wont be like that every week
I congratulate Tony!!! Great win!!!
Although I am still looking for the DODGE!
Don’t be surprised to see one in victory lane tomorrow!
Or you could look at this one first, Dale Dodge Jr

I was gonna b#@th about the Bushwackers ( Nationwidewackers just doesn’t sound as good) but Ripper took care of it. Nascars gotta do something!
Its not the Cup guys that come for one or two races that bother me, its the guys that race the full season.
Go get em’ tomorrow Tony
and “your mom’s box”, [shakes head] how ignorant and stupid can you be? I think your name shows your maturity level; this is a blog about Tony winning the race, not his weight, not his attitude.
Those Toyotas are making me wonder about this sport now. We all know that those foregin cars get better gas mileage (as reg. everyday cars). But, now we have those in the greatest AMERICAN SPORT there is. What is that saying? I honestly hate the fact that toyota or any other foreign made thing is in Nascar. But we all know they only think about the money.
Since their in and I have no choice in the matter. I will say that was impressive druing that race. But is it really BECAUSE its toyota or because the teams hit the nail on the head? Hmmm. We’ll have to watch and see.
On another note….
That just cracked me up with Truex saying Kyle “drives like a girl”. Its hilarious. Being a girl I take a little offense to that, I ceratinly can drive A LOT better then that puke. The truth is, Kyle drives like an idiot. I understand that he was ACTUALLY trying to help his teammate, Tony. But, COME ON! He was way too aggressive in that blocking. I don’t know how many time I thought, Oh well here is the big one. He was actually more wreckless driving then blocking.
To me both those Bush brothers do nothing but mirror drive and block. And they would rather wreck the whole field if they aren’t able to win. That is not a true sportsman nor race driver.
Good job Tony. It would have been better though seeing him battle someone at the end for it. Not watch some ill mannered child swing back and forth like he’s intoxicated.
To the people that keep on saying that NASCAR is an American sport… Then how come when NASCAR was created and for its early existence it was known as NASCAR International
