The new track surface approaches completion at Talladega Superspeedway, with the final wear layer down on the backstretch and well into the tri-oval and frontstretch.
Workers are completing the third and final pass near the bottom of turns three and four today and will be completing turns one and two in the next several days. Soon, the final layer of asphalt will be complete all the way around the 2.66-mile track, followed by finishing touches on the apron, pit road and skid pad areas.
Then, work will begin to restore fencing and landscaping to pristine condition in time to welcome fans back for the UAW-Ford 500 event weekend, set for Oct. 6 – 8.

That place will be so fast the restrictor plate won’t have any holes in it.
Thats funny. That place will ROCK!
NASCAR plans to test there when the repaving is done and expect the speeds to be around 260-275.
hahha ya right 260-275
Actually, if they ran unrestricted, they’d be not far off of that. My wild guess would be around 235-240.
Can you imagine what a Champ Car would do?
