Super 8 Motels today announced that it has signed an agreement with Petty Enterprises to become the official lodging partner and associate sponsor of the Number 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge driven by Bobby Labonte, a past NASCAR Nextel Cup Series™ champion.
Beginning with the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season, the Super 8® logo will be displayed on Labonte’s car and uniform, crew team’s uniforms, team trailers, pit boxes and transporters including merchandise haulers.
With this agreement, the Super 8 economy hotel chain will enter its 11th year as a NASCAR® racing sponsor, according to Rosanne Zusman, Super 8 vice president of marketing.
“Research has shown that nearly 40 percent of our guests are interested in NASCAR, and our continued association with racing has created a definite preference for the Super 8 brand,” she said “Our relationship with NASCAR and Petty Enterprises promises to provide significant exposure for the Super 8 brand among a diverse audience.”
Labonte said his team stays in Super 8 motels when traveling between races. “Travel is a huge part of racing, and Super 8 motels are always a nice and clean place to stay,” he said. “That’s important. It helps us get our job done when we are away from home. We are thankful for their support.”
