Tony StewartTony Stewart isn’t running many races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this series, so he’s making the ones he does drive in count.

The two-time Sprint Cup champion, who hasn’t been having much luck and has no wins in the top stock car series this season, drove away Saturday with his fifth victory in seven Nationwide starts in 2008.

Stewart got track position, restarting third after taking just two tires during his final pit stop on lap 129 of the 200-lap event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He took the lead on lap 136 from fellow Cup star Carl Edwards on lap 136 and led the rest of the way.

Hmmm…. Lets see he is really good in this style of car, but he is not all that great in the COT.

With the COT you need to be a wheelman to drive, while in this style of car it’s more like a Sunday drive in a Cadillac.

Maybe Smoke’s problem Isn’t Toyota, but it’s that he is not as much of a wheelman as everybody thought he was……

Or maybe his doing well in this car is that you could put my mom in that #20 NWS car and she could at least bring it home in the top 10. I doubt it’s any kind of indication of Smoke’s driving ability.

What was Chevy’s win % last year? Since you seem to be up all those kinds of Stats.

    Hey Fisha.
72% was Chevys win percentage in Cup, and to say (as you have on a previous thread)
that I was silent then is wrong as it seems your memory doesnt serve you too well.
I was one strong critic of the jump on testing that Hendrick and JGR got with the COT last year
My point is last year they won 0 races in Cup; so far they have won just under half in 2008.
What if this rate of development continues?
What if the other Toyota teams (Red Bull and BDR, maybe MWR) are able to match their pace?
That percentage will balloon. Which doesnt bode well for competition in NASCAR

Reports say Chevy is buying out Smoke’s contract with JGR. They want someone who can’t wheel back Fisha? Are you nuts? Stewart has won in every discipline he’s ever raced. THAT IS A WHEELMAN. He’s snake bitten but not out and he will get hot maybe during the chase and bury the field, win his third title and sail off to Chevy.

Erin I hope your right. That would be super amazing if he did that, if he did that I wouldn’t care where he went to drive next, it’d be such a big bang. I’ll follow him anywhere he goes. :)

I think he’s a confirmed Chevy man and they are willing to do whatever it takes to get Smoke back. I think he will get hot and watch out. Hopefully he will be his usual stellar performer at Daytona this next week, and Chicago and on to the Brickyard where I will be hoping for another win there for him.
