Tony Stewart will test the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota during the Jan. 14-16 session at Daytona International Speedway after skipping the session for the last three years.
Sprint Cup teams will begin testing Monday and are split into two three-day sessions. Stewart will test in the second session, according to a team spokesman.
- Stewart and Gordon to skip Daytona test
- IRL and Daytona Discuss Compatibility Test at Speedway
- Goodyear to conduct COT tire test at Daytona
- Goodyear slams Stewart back, likely won’t be invited to another tire test
- Armor All to sponsor Stewart’s Nationwide car at Daytona

Good thinking since he’s racing with the COT also with the new manufacture Toyota.
I think if you want to race in the 500 you should have to run at least one day of testing. I don’t care who you are or what you have accomplished in the past.
He has to get acquainted with his Toyota manual because it’s in Japanese.lol
I think tony needs no testing. he is the GGGGREATST.
testing irrelevant, he topped talladegas speed chart during practice last year. but, since he’s gonna win the 500 this year, i guess it is a good idea to run the track at least one lap to top the charts again. GO SMOKE!
I dont think testing matters, they get enough practice an stuff during speedweek this is just a big waste of money to all the teams.
JRT2003 sorry toyota will not win the 500 for a few years to come.
hey hot rod…
if Tony, Ky or Denny win the 500, you have to eat your shoe.
As far as the 500 goes, I’m hoping one of these openwheelers pulls a Mario Andretti. That’ll really tick off alot of “oldschool” fans…. l0l
I think that if anyone could win in a Toyota, it will be Tony!! Mark my words!
First Toyota Cup winner will be Kyle Busch. He thinks he’s got a lot to prove. Like HMS was wrong for letting him go and JGR was right for grabbing him.
Hopefully Kyle will be getting better equipment than what Bobby had to deal with his last couple of years with Gibbs and what Yeley had for equipment.
Stewart wins 2008 Daytona 500 and Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson plead nascar to penalize him for a “rule infraction” lol watch it will prolly happen just like that
These are becoming pretty lame. People only want to talk s**t on other drivers and talk stupid.
“eat your shoe”? What kind of idiot says that?
sushstewart20 so what are you going to eat when they dont win the 500?
having tony there is good for the sport and auto maker. Toyota,
like Nascar needs what this guy has and brings. I am not going
to talk about what I don’t know but the one thing I do know
watching over 25 years is Tony Stewart is marketable, and
newsworthy. Sport would be boring without him - test COT
waste of time of not. Glad he’s headed there - then again
did he have a choice with the new now in his life? HE said
looking forward to Toyota coming onboard with JGR, a good thing
and yet this guy is smart - he’s not going to cut off his nose
dispite his face if told time/place - be there!
