Denny Hamlin and Tony Stewart met and talked through their differences Saturday from the Daytona accident that ruined the chances of their potential race-winning cars last week.
Hamlin said he could not talk about the specifics of the meeting, held Saturday morning in Hamlin’s hauler at Chicagoland Speedway. Stewart said after the race at Daytona that the accident was Hamlin’s fault and he did not know the meaning of teammates.
“We just came to the realization he’s wrong in a lot of areas and I’m wrong in some areas,” Hamlin said. “We’ve got to be good teammates on the race day and we need to work through our differences. … He felt there were a lot of things that led up to that and that kind of set him off, and I questioned it.
“And basically the end result is we got it all resolved. We will probably be better teammates now than we were before.”

Stewart got spanked by Joe, it had to happen.
The wounds were allowed to fester far too long. If Gibbs was forced to step in, that is really not good. Grown men and teammates should be better at working together.
Tony Stewart has “problems”.
It doesn’t seem he is capable of “getting along” with others unless he has his way and is “king”.
Joe Gibbs may have to take charge and issue an utimatum or two. Denny Hamlin did not deserve the wrath of the “pudgy one”.
Tony…….You’re running out of chances. Just win and keep your trap zipped.
SMoke just wrecked the dirt car in an event he was sponsering. He just has to back off a little bit. Way to aggresive all the time.Tony and Kyle should go to demolition derby .
A lot of wrecking happens on dirt tracks that really can’t be helped,
for one. And you pretty much have to be agressive the entire time or
you won’t win.
“We just came to the realization he’s wrong in a lot of areas and
I’m wrong in some areas,” Hamlin said.
Oh yes. All is well. Or not.
I thing ole Jor Gibbs needs to step in and calm ole tony down as far as Denny goes I think he is much wiser and prudenent than tony will ever be.
Denny is patient and doesnt run into the back of his own teamate leading the race. He’s calm cool collected and a pretty savy driver. He doesnt run off at the mouth before he thinks and doesnt let his mouth overun his butt.
Tony Stewart can’t be a ‘team player’ with anyone…he thinks he never does wrong. Denny has more class and talent and maturity than Tony can ever hope to have. I hope Joe Gibbs set Tony Stewart straight.
But Tony won the race an Denny was a also ran car today.
Wins = $$$$ + points, and that is the Name of the Game
