Steve Wallace’s crew chief has been fined $1,000 for rules violations discovered before the season-opening Busch Series race at Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR announced Wednesday.
Bryant Frazier, crew chief for Wallace’s No. 66 Dodge, was fined for rules violations including using equipment that does not conform to NASCAR rules and using a bracket around the drive shaft less than one-quarter inch thick. The sanctioning body said the violations were discovered during the Opening Day inspection on Feb. 13.
Wallace, son of former Winston Cup champion and current ESPN analyst Rusty Wallace, finished 30th in Saturday’s Orbitz 300.
