Speed suspends NASCAR reporter Ray Dunlap

Ray DunlapSpeed Channel has suspended on-air broadcaster Ray Dunlap for three NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races, beginning with this weekend’s Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. Speed’s spokesman Erik Arneson confirmed Dunlap’s suspension on Thursday.

Arneson declined to reveal the reason for Dunlap’s suspension, saying Speed does not comment on personnel issues. However, The Charlotte Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned through multiple sources that Dunlap’s suspension is not related to any on-air actions in his role as pit reporter for Speed Channel.
