Rick HendrickAttorneys for Linda Turner have informed U.S. District Court in North Carolina that she has reached a settlement in her wrongful death lawsuit against Hendrick Motorsports and its pilots stemming from the death of her husband, team general manager Jeff Turner, in the Oct 24, 2004, accident that killed 10 people on the way to the race in Martinsville, Va.

The terms of the settlement are confidential, and the court still must approve the settlement. The settlement provides for an equal distribution of settlement proceeds among Linda and her three children.

Turner also has sued the U.S. government over the actions of the air-traffic controllers. That suit is still pending, as are two other suits from widows Dianne Dorton and Tracy Lathram against Hendrick Motorsports.

It’s too bad nobody has the money to stand up for themselves
anymore. If this was the fault of someone on the plane, how can you hold the rest of the organization responsible. It is the pilots discretion whether it is safe to land or not, and
this one screwed up, but Hendrick Motorsports is not responsible
for that. The number of lawsuits like this these days is really
    sickening.

Yes really i agree with Franco, that womans husband made a choice to fly to that race, was he held at gun point and forced to take the plane ride? Even if the pilots made an error in judgement about landing they would be the only ones responsible and since they died too your stuck with no one to sue. Thats whats wrong with the USA, everone wants to sue others over stupid stuff. Its an accident, look that up in the dictionary sometime. It means it wasn’t anyones direct fault as to the event happening. Just end up in a hospitol sometime and you’ll see what sueing docters has done, its costs and arm and aleg just to sit in a hospitol bed these days. Thanks to the lawyers for screwing up the medical field! Well i think that woman got a settlement when she didn’t deserve it, sure her husband is gone but darn now she’ll have to get a job just like everyone else has to support themselves!

It can happen to anybody, at anytime when they get in a plane. Does she really think that money will help her
    because she lost someone?
