The flap that Jeremy Mayfield triggered at Chicago last weekend about car owner Ray Evernham isn’t dying down, despite the news conference that the two had to try to defuse the situation.

Evernham this season swapped Kasey Kahne to the Kenny Francis-led team that Mayfield drove for last year, and Kahne has four wins, while Mayfield is winless and not very competitive. That has led to considerable speculation that Mayfield won’t be back with Evernham next season, though the two declined to talk in any specifics about that possibility.

Now comes word that Elliott Sadler, currently with car owner Robert Yates, may be under consideration for a ride with Evernham next season. And there are reports that Mayfield be under consideration for a Toyota ride with Michael Waltrip.

i would be mad too. It took mayfield 3 years to get the team to where it was a top 10 contender and they swap teams and give him a team that didnt even run a full schedule last year. Not my favoite driver but i dont think its right.

i agree with greg…thats not right…if i were him i would leave and find someone who would give me the ability to be competitive every weekend and not let me figure out success then give it to some young kid who is only popular cuz he is twenty something and the girls think he is hot and all that. its just not right.

Uh, excuse me, Kasey has done more with that crew than Jeremy. He kind of has won FOUR races this year with them. If anyone wants to talk about crew changes that are unfair, talk about some of Jack Roush’s decisions.

pOOR jERMY HE HAS HAD IT ROUGH i DONT THINK IT WAS RIGHT AT ALL HE SHOULD Have the chance to stay with a team that has put in a lot of hours building and growing to get to the topp. Go to Hendricks and run over Everham.
