Rudd defends Gilliland over Stewart incident at Michigan

Tony Stewart had stern words for David Gilliland after the two drivers got together during practice at Michigan International Speedway last weekend.
But Gilliland’s teammate at Robert Yates Racing, Ricky Rudd, staunchly defended the younger driver.
“Tony is Tony. What else can you say?” Rudd said. “You can’t question his driver ability. Everybody knows he’s one of the best, if not the best out there, but he kind of has a habit of running his mouth at the wrong time.
“David got blamed for that wreck, but that wasn’t David’s fault. No one ever came around and asked anybody else what happened, but the videotape clearly shows what happened, and Tony screwed up. He just misjudged his distance and ran into the back of David.”

The media needs to cowboy up and stop buying Stewart’s spin on everything.

Tony needs to take responsibility for his actions? Why should he have to if no other driver will with exception to Mark Martin and Jeff Burton. The only reason Tony gets so much hate is because the media has to hype it up. Every week there’s a driver who does something stupid that never admits its his fault (see the exceptions above).
Everybody hates tony and I can clearly see it’s because of jealousy, and gilliland clearly screwed up, all he had to do was say, yeah I messed up, and learn from it, see what these idiots dont understand is, why would tony tear his car up like that? yeah makes real friggen sense. so hate tony all you want, his fans dont give a shit what everybody else has to say, they’re all haters anyway.

And why is Rudd getting involved in this? He never did like Tony, so OF COURSE he’s going to bad talk him if the media asks him. Some stupid reporter knew they could get a bad quote about Tony out of Rudd, so they went for it and pushed the envelope JUST to make Tony keep looking like he’s whining about everything.

Rudd needs to keep his thoughts to himself and continue to ride around with no purpose in that 88 week to week for his paycheck. Cause we all know he isnt making any prize money.
How can u guys be so blind. If someone slams on brakes in front of you and you hit them is it your fault? Well Gilliland slammed on brakes right in frontof stewart. Look at the video if you can find it.
Regardless of whose fault it was, Gilliland doesn’t deserve to race at this level. I don’t say that because of this incident. I say that because of his career.

If it was not for the Stewarts and Gordons . And the Buscsh Boys. What a boring race it would be. I enjoy seeing who can race and who cant. If we didnt have incidents!!!!!!! .What fun would it be . We need to see our Drivers fight for there win. Not just riding around waiting for it happen. I like seeing stewart piss someone off or seeing someone piss him off .It make for good hard race. Its like I cant wait til nexk week to see who gets mad at who .And for what To me it just good racing.
