Roush Fenway doesn’t plan legal action against MWR, but words escalate

Roush Fenway Racing doesn’t plan to take legal action against Michael Waltrip Racing for what it characterized as the theft of a sway bar unless there is evidence that the piece has been duplicated.
Team president Geoff Smith said the issue would not have surfaced at all had Toyota general manager Lee White not insinuated that Roush’s team of Carl Edwards intentionally cheated at Las Vegas.
“But for Lee White, in spite of his education and position, engaging in this vituperative slander of our organization we wouldn’t have said anything,” Smith said on Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.
Smith discounted Waltrip’s comment that the bar wasn’t taken on purpose and that there was no attempt to duplicate it.
“We had people from their organization tell us [what happened],” Smith said. “You also have to remember the bar was blue. There are no other blue sway bars. If you’re a mechanic you know that is not yours.
“It wasn’t an accident that the color was sandblasted off so the source of origin as a Roush part was not generally known.”

So basically RFR is admitting that they knew about this for a Long time, but they didn’t care about it until they got caught cheating and someone called them a cheater….
I’m not even going to go into the whole Color thing because thats just RFR trying to have the last word, but going a few words to far to prove their point (yup I’ve been accused of that too… l0l)
I wish RFR would just drop this idiocy; they just look stupid. Anybody see the movie “The Caine Mutiny,” where the captain just goes on and on about the missing strawberries? That’s what how Jack and company are coming off here, obsessed beyond all reason with something relatively minor. Time to move on. Maybe use all this effort to figure a way to keep Kenseth from hitting things on the track.
Yeah, so they admitted that this has been a non-issue since it happened and only brought it up because Lee White said what everyone already knew… Pathetic, IMO.
And if they really think that what White said constitutes slander, why don’t they take him to court? Just like all the ‘roid users in baseball that went on and on about Canseco’s book… If he’s lying and you know it, sue him. I never saw anyone step up and sue him for libel, so the only thing I can believe is that it’s the truth.
As I said, Roush just wanted a reason, any reason to slap Toyota in the head over the 99 mess-up.
Here comes Mikey and Roush is off to the press… Pretty dumb on Jacks part but thats the way he operates as of lately.
I know that Michael obviously had a rough year last year, but if he
was going to steal something and cheat wouldn’t he have stolen from
Hendrick? I know RFR has been better this year but last year, they
weren’t that great.

Just because I am not a mechanic……. How the heck different is one sway bar from another, surely they can not be that different. Except for the engine and grill this cars all look like clones!
They are not that different. There are like springs, they have some different properties that make them “reflex” differently, but in principal they are all the same thing.

jack just needs to shut up. first he got pissed that toyota was entering the sport and ever since then he has been tryin to find every single way possible to insult them. i heard that this happened at dover last year. i also heard that it happened at atlanta. i dont remember which one it was but still jack plays more political games than the damn government. thats sad. really pathetic. jack shut up and work on where ure sendin that 5th team in a couple years and on how to make ure cars go faster. an if this happened at dover, then jack has brought his team to an all time low. dover was how many months ago??

A year ago thing that is JUST now brought up? Then were blaming Toyota teams. Then the threats to Nascar about “they BETTER do something or else”. THEN, “Oh well, Mikey Waltrip did it, not Hamlin, so ok we’re ok with it”. Now, We’re gonna sue if this so and so doesn’t stop talking bad about us”. WTH???
