i figured Toyota had to be cheat!! from going from no top fives to winning races and domenating . i can see there is something wrong with that picture. Toyota needs to stay in CHina , just like Montoya needs to stay in Indy!!

I would like to know what the part is. With the COT there isn’t that much that is different
about them. The engines, springs etc are different, but everything else is pretty much the same.
If it was Denny Hamlin’s team I don’t see how it was an advantage. The only person that they
could say really would have an advantage in Atlanta was Kyle Busch, but Kyle has had a strong
car every week.

it wasnt Kyle’s team it was Dennys team, they were the one stalled next to David Ragans car and this did not take place till after the race during teardown

While it is highly doubtful that NASCAR would levy millions of dollars in fines, the penalties and potential backlash could cost the offending team its very existence while the repercussions would reverberate through the sport. That said, the burden of proof is also a heavy one, and should Roush fail to provide it, could create a public relations backlash of his own.

The second possibility is that the accusation is a total fabrication. Roush has made no secret that there is no love lost between himself and Toyota. An accusation of this magnitude would serve to create a public scorn of an already unpopular “new kid on the block” that would take years to absolve. Of course, if there were no truth to it, it would also be slander.

Third, and certainly the most insidious, is that someone from Roush-Fenway Racing planted the part to incriminate the accused team. A distressing explanation if true, it would certainly be a sad day in the sport if this were the case. An offshoot of this hypothesis is that an RFR employee simply misplaced the part and once it was found, put the blame in a place that was guaranteed to take the heat off the individual. Either way, accusing a team of stealing a trade secret or tool and actually planting the evidence goes far beyond the low end of the ethical spectrum.

No matter how the fans look at this, it will turn NASCAR around, and the fans have had enough over the last few years with all the debris cautions, the COT, the top 35 rule, the fines and penalities,Toyota coming into the sport and everything else that has led to declining ticket sales not to mention the turmoil in the garage area between the crew members and team owners.

And Jack is not go to NASCAR but to his attorneys and the rumor is we will have another F1 scandal if NASCAR does not step in and put the breaks on this before he ruins this sport because if he tries suing JGR for 100 million the sport would be devastated and would not survive.

Then people could start a new series free of all the bulls–t rules (not including saftey rules, they can stay) that have been put into the sport over the past few years. Like the mandatory spring rates, gear ratios, all the Aerodynamic crap with this new car. Put the sport back when the best driver won the race, not who invested the most money.

Sorry, but how could a lawsuit destroy nascar? I could care less if gibbs or any other team gets caught stealing. I think this whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Teams have always tried to get an advantage in NASCAR. If it it cheating or whatever it has been done before.

Jack Roush plays the media and nascar like a drum. You may not like him but if you look at his overall winning percentage it is pretty darn good. I really do not like him but he does figure out a way to win and make money. Overall his drivers are good as well. Matt is one of the best men in NASCAR or so it seems and some of the other drivers are as well.

I think we will find out what the part is unless it is illegal and then this will all go away.

They are simply more competitive this year because they actually have drivers that can do something with the car.
They also have Mark Cronquist as an engine builder. They learned a lot from last year’s mistakes.

I don’t think they ever said that the silly spring was found with a JGR team. It could have been Waltrip.
