“We (WCNC.com) have a retraction on a story we first reported Wednesday. Wildlife officers cited a boater on Lake Norman on the Fourth of July for boating while impaired and speeding. Ryan Young is facing those charges.
During our report, we stated that NASCAR race driver Kyle Busch was the owner of that boat. We have since received documentation that Ryan Young is the boat’s owner. We also reported Kyle Busch was on board the boat, based on Young’s statements to the arresting officer. We learned Thursday from Hendrick Motorsports that Kyle Busch was not on board the boat. We regret this error.”

Okay for once he didnt do it.
Does WCNC think they’re CBS or something?
Kyle is still an idiot and has no right to be in a race car.
Damn, I liked the story the way it was first reported. Kind of had that trashy Jerry Springer spin to it, the news this week has been about drugs and alcohol, NASCAR Drivers Gone Wild!!
What ever happened to getting all the facts BEFORE publishing a story? Seems to me that WCNC just jumped at the opportunity to make a name for itself by breaking a story without checking it out first.
Paul,
That’s apparently not how it’s done these days. People would rather be first to report something and have it be inaccurate or totally wrong if it means that there’s a slim chance they are correct.
In addition to this story there’s the Chicago reporter who was seen hanging out in her bathing suit at the house of a man whose wife disappeared and she was supposedly covering the story. And then there’s the SI Hoops reporter that took a made up quote from a blog and put it in an article, only to find out after the fact that it was made up… He had some big excuses for why he didn’t check his source, but it doesn’t much matter to me. The fact is he didn’t check his source either!
This seems to be the growing trend lately, and it’s a disturbing one, IMO.
barry u are prob a new bandwagon nascar fan .if you can honestly say that kyle bush dosent belong in a car u have no clue aboutthis sport .he is in the chase as of now he is in the top five almost every week and he has bigger balls that most drivers evedently your driver ..i hate some drivers in nascar but i will give them the credit they are deserved for havin what it takes to be ant competition in this series .
