Nascar is adding some heat to its marketing with a new campaign featuring California rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Brandweek.com reports that the band will be featured in a new 30-second commercial. The ad shows the Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert and also as members of a Nascar pit crew, all while the group’s current hit single “Dani California” plays in the background.

During the television spot, the four Peppers shout, “Start your engines,” and singer Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea ask viewers, “Nascar — How bad have you got it?”

The Nascar-Red Hot Chili Peppers commercial is scheduled to premiere this Saturday, July 1st, on FOX during the Pepsi 400 telecast live from the Daytona, Florida International Speedway.

“Dani California” is off the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ latest album “Stadium Arcadium,” available now.
