Pettys will not merge with Gillett Evernham

For the time being, Petty Enterprises will go it alone in the increasingly costly world of NASCAR.
Kyle Petty said Tuesday that Richard Petty has decided not to merge with Gillett Evernham Motorsports. Not at this time, at least. Petty Enterprises and Gillett Evernham were said to be discussing a merger or partnership that would have allowed Petty to maintain its identity.

this sucks! i would like to see the petty camp run alot better, hey was petty going to run that old farts race?
They made big strides forward by getting Meendering, then they fell back to steps by not merging. They would still call their own shots as we understand it. They would’ve shared technology. The Petty group will always have it’s own identity. After all, who in racing worldwide hasn’t heard of The King?
