Kyle PettyNASCAR will not penalize Kyle Petty for slapping the visor of Denny Hamlin in the garage area following their accident in Sunday’s Dodge Dealers 400, a NASCAR spokesman said.

Petty was angry after Hamlin hit his rear bumper, sending him into the wall Sunday at Dover International Speedway. After being released from the infield medical center, Petty went over to Hamlin’s car in the garage, unhooked Hamlin’s window net, yelled at him and slapped his visor. Hamlin got out of his car but was restrained by crew members and NASCAR officials.
Earlier this year, a shoving match between Richard Childress Racing’s Kevin Harvick and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Juan Pablo Montoya also resulted in no penalties - “no harm, no foul,” NASCAR Vice President Jim Hunter said at the time.

NASCAR gets one right! I still wish Kyle would have worn his young @$$ out.
I wonder what Denny’s thoughts will be next year if he is reduced to racing
for a top 35 spot in his Tyota and not in the Chase…Will he pull over for
anyone that gets close to him. I doubt it, but I sure hope he is in that position
    so we can find out.

The one I really had a problem with was when a Busch OFFICIAL escorted Dale Jarrett over th Shane Hmeil’s
car. DJ goes off on Hmeil but you can’t hear it, then as Jarrett backs away, Hmeil gives him the “you’re
    # 1″ salute and gets penalized for it.

Maybe it’s more who you are than what you do.

Kyle said the “f” word on t.v.during a race and nothing happened. He goes after a driver that’s still seated and strapped into his car and nothing happens, but helmet throwing isn’t good for the sport. NASCAR insanity at it’s finest!!

The rason they did not penalize Kyle for throwing the F word out during the race was because they were listening in on his frequency during the race. How would kyle know they would be listening to him at that point. The Fox was responsible for that not Kyle
