Pepsi or Monster Dale Jr’s new sponsor?

Captain Thunder reports….that Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick has been in talks with two beverage sponsors for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s racecar for 2008. One is Pepsi and the other is Monster Energy.
Pepsi has had a running relationship with Hendrick for many years as they have shared the sponsorship of Jeff Gordon’s #24 car with the DuPont Corporation. Monster Energy has had a recent relationship with Dale Jr. and JR. Motorsports. Monster is all set to sponsor the late model car that Supercross legend Jeremy McGrath will drive for JR. Motorsports this year for a 10-race run.
Look for an announcement soon as teams must have sponsorships and car numbers to the merchandise manufacturers for merchandise to be ready for February’s Speed Weeks in Daytona.
- Carmichael to be sponsored by Monster Energy Drink
- Mountain Dew the front-runner to sponsor Earnhardt Jr. in 2008
- Reports: Bud may bow out of Earnhardt, Jr sponsorship, Monster now the frontrunner
- Dale Earnhardt, Jr. signs Supercross star Jeremy McGrath
- Dale Earnhardt, Jr. to appear in Super Bowl ad

pepsi, pepsi, well there $$ are as good as anybodys I guess but for me I would rather drink anything (almost) than Pepsi. And wouldn’t that make JR’s car look like Jeffs old Bush car ?

Pepsi would be a BIG sponser.
I think Pepsi would be a good one.
Monster would be awesome… Pepsi would disgust me but it would be a good sponsor.
Okay whoa, what got my attention is Jeremy McGrath is going
to drive for JR Motorsports? Man, I wish I could see those races.
COME ON WHAT IN THE WORLD Y DOES EVERYONE THINK THAT BUD IS
GOING WITH JR. DO YOU THINK DW IS GOD OR SOMETHING BE
REALISTIC…..
Let’s see…Monster is marketed by Anheuser-Busch. That works with the personal
contract already in place and sounds a heck of alot better than Pepsi. Who
wants to buy Pepsi merchandise. Better yet, who wants to drink Pepsi. Of course
in the end, it doesn’t really matter. Neither sponsorship will put $$ in my
bank account.
I have been following JR. for a long time, and I can’t believe that Budwiser would give up on JR. when he is makeing a move that could take him to the top.
How about….Bud AND Monster. Anheuser-Busch wins either way.
Pepsi, Monstor, Bud, Adidas, or whoever sponsor Dale Jr, will bring in the $$. I’ll support Jr. no matter the sponsor, even tho i don’t drink Pepsi.
I still don’t get why everyone is so quickly ruling out Budweiser. No one ever said No. Just because they haven’t signed a contract propsal doesn’t mean we should all be freaking out as to who is the new sponsor. However if Bud did not go with Junior, I would like Pepsi as a sponsor, I do not like any energy drinks at all..so I would be a bit dissapointed with Monster as a primary sponsor. But no matter what I’m supporting Junior.
I like to see and hear guessing games you guys are probaly so far off its not funny. I would just wait and see I’m not any mind reader neither is anyone else!!!
NEWS FLASH: Tommy Tie Rod has told me that Jr. will be sponsored by Playtex and the car will be pink with the #DD>>>.
Pepsi SUCKS!!!! Clearly Dale Earnhardt should stay with Budweiser to satisfy his fans. Driving a Pepsi car is something that Jeff Gorden would do, and has done in the past.
I LOVE drinking monster and i would LOVE to see jr with the green and black monster logo on his car !! completely awesome idea!!
pepsi is jeff’s sponsor! I would quit drinking Pepsi if they sponsored Jr.
HOW could jr do pepsi if jeff has them already?
a pepsi team like the coke team maybe but
hell i already stopped drinking pukesi because
they sponsor jeff —-and because it tastes like
watered down over sugared coke!!
I prefer Pepsi over Coke, but I associate Pepsi with Jeff. It would be kinda weird to see Jr in a Pepsi car. Whatever they decide, I will still continue to follow Jr, though.
Robby is running a Monster paint scheme this week and it doesn’t look bad.
Monster just doesnt sound big league enough to be Jr’s sponsor year in and year out…Pepsi would be a better deal but it would be nice to see someone like Adidas(as Bob suggested) getting into the mix…
Racing is a sport, and it should only be a matter of time before Adidas and Nike come knocking to get into Nascar, maybe the time has come. Nascar is getting bigger and bigger year in and year out.
I’m sure people are going to say “we dont want nike or adidas, this is racing not football or basketball”…but you have to remember that nike and adidas weren’t around football or basketball either and entered those sporting markets at some time or another and any athlete or sporting event they have endorsed had provided huge financial gains and marketing opportunities in the long run.
Who f__king cares? It’s just sponsorship. You know he’s going to have
a sponsor cuz, well, he’s Dale Jr. Other than that, it’s not even
worth talking about.
yeah, breanna said so!
snap, snap, snap!
Y’know for being the person who said I only comment on the commentors
and not on the topic at hand, you’re the one who comes onto every
board I comment on just to comment on me. Which is kind of creepy in
a stalker way.
I CARE! cause I like sporting my drivers gear, Pepsi not so much, monster not so much either. I supose it would grown on me but I
too associate Pepsi with Jeff. I do care but in the end us fans have no say. It’s still fun to talk about it and
try to guess what will happen. Remember the NASCAR soaps, kind of like that
Dunt Dunt Daaa, Who will be the future sponsor of Dale Jr? Tune in tomorrow as the suspense continues to grow
chevy_chica,
Of course you care. As do MANY others. After all, this is about JR!!!!!!!!
i got a feeling i know what Hendrick is going to “dew” with Jr next season.
