Sam HornishWith Sam Hornish having trouble qualifying for Cup races - he has missed all six he has attempted this year - Penske Racing may consider making a points swap to get Hornish into races in 2008.

With Kurt Busch having won the 2004 Nextel Cup championship, Penske could transfer the points earned by Busch’s No. 2 team to Hornish, which would lock him into the top 35 for the first five races of next season. Busch would get into those races as the most recent past champion if he failed to qualify on speed.

NASCAR officials confirmed that a move would be allowed.

I hope that this happens and then after Busch uses all of his provisionals he’s not in the top 35. No im not saying that becasue of Kurt im saying that because this is one of the stupidest things that the captain has thought of in a long time.

I think this rule is such BS. If you are allowed to do this you should have to transfer the entire team, meaning your car number and car sponsor. Then we’ll see how many people try this. If you want a certain car’s points than you should have to drive that car.

You already see lots doing or talking about this. Paul Menard got
points from one of the Ginn cars when DEI and Ginn merged. Recently
Kyle Petty talked about him switching cars with Bobby Labonte if
the 45 fell out of the top 35 because the 43 is locked in and
Bobby is a past champion. This is also the reason people of used
Terry Labonte and Bill Elliott in cars.

maybe Hornish Jr. ain’t good enough to drive for nascar? you
can’t say He isn’t the right stuff because the other two
drives are. why doesn’t He just go back to where he came
from and drive what He is used to.

Ithink the should cut it down to the top 25 i’m so tired of seeing fast cars go home because ther are only 7 spots open if there were 17 it would make things way more interesting

that is one of the cheapest things Penske has either done or is thinking about doing, just to get Hornish into Cup races, I have an idea: MAYBE HORNISH ISN’T A GOOD NASCAR DRIVER
