Eury Jr and Dale jrSuspended DEI crew chief Tony Eury, Jr stated that his team had old wing brackets on Dale Earnhardt, Jr’s Chevy that were used in the development of the car and was unaware they were illegal. Eury, Jr and the team has been fined and suspended for the action.

NASCAR’s Robin Pemberton says there are no ‘old pieces’.

“It was just wrong,” Pemberton said Wednesday prior to the Nextel Pit Crew Challenge. “I can’t weigh in whether I thought it was intentional. There’s no such thing as an old piece. This car isn’t that old to have a lot of old pieces laying around.”NASCAR had warned teams not to mess with the car of tomorrow, but Pemberton said this was part of the ramped up penalties that started at Daytona earlier this year.

“We had warned people for the entire year,” Pemberton said. “This falls in line with everything we’ve done since the beginning of the season.”

I think that NASCAR is just trying to prove that they are not easy on Jr. Being that Tony Eury Jr. has NEVER!!! done anything wrong before I think this penalty is way to stiff. He is suspended for 7 races. Chad Knaus has done worse in my opinion and was supsended for less races.

I could see being this sever if Tony jr had done something before but it’s just nuts. NASCAR needs to have a set of rules you do this, this is the consequence. Not well if it’s this person we will do this but if it’s this person we do something else. I used to love NASCAR. If there was a race on you’d better bet I would be in front of the TV watching it. Now I could almost care less and I’ve been a fan for 13 years now.

Now you may think by all of this that I’m a Dale Jr fan. Well Jr is cool but my favorite drive is Jeff Gordon. So just throw that out that I’m part of Jr. Nation.

NASCAR please stop the madness. You are loosing the fans that helped you grow into the sport you are today.

NASCAR has gone too far. Its stupid for them to do that.
thats all I have to say about that, on the other hand I do
have one more thing to say. I’m not crazy about Tony S.
but he was right about NASCAR.

Im so tired of NASCAR’S CRAP. Someone tell them its racing. You are always trying to get an edge on the competion. You race a race to win. Manditory cautions thats abunch of crap too. Nascar has plenty of $$$$, to test these cars and tires long before race day. And you pit before the 40 lap caution, you can’t put gas in the car, come on. I tape the race now so i can skip all the comercials. Its getting to where i dont even watch the race.

It’s time for NASCAR to stop with the nazi like attitude and LET THEM RACE.

To Robin if you put a part on the car, then take it off throw it in a box, set it aside, and put another one on. Then come back weeks later or months and pick it up and say lets use these, it is now not a new part, it has been on the car already. It becomes old one’s.

Well at the end of this article Robin said this was part of the “ramped up ” penalties that started at Daytona. Come on you jerk the penalties at Daytona were a slap on the hand compared to this, which is a less severe infraction. I mean there was people using illegal fuel. Whole car set ups, not just a bracket, that were against the rules. I recall one driver that had an illegal set up and was not penalized at all because it was “unintentional”. Do the powers at NASCAR think we are all dumb a**es or what. Nascar needs to get right and treat all teams equal and stop playing favorites.

I wonder if #20 is gonna be thouht of as a complainer or is he someone who had the kahunas to stand up to NASCAR and be man enough to get in their face. See now what he meant when he said this is like wrestling? Yeah that’s what I’m talking about!

  7. 7 Theresa

Ever since the debut of “THE CAR OF TOMMORROW” they have had some many problems,What’s next the Future car of ? Who know’s!!!!!!!!

  8. 8 Cadillac

I have an answer for that, Theresa, and it is TCOY (The car of yesterday). Remember Cale Yarbrough (did I spell that right?) He was , is, my hero. Always will be. Let’s go racing! Yeah, I will still watch if I’m not there because a lot of racing ain’t about the race, but being there. So, what do you think of me now? Thinking about all of you in Tennessee! C-YA!

is NASCAR going broke? these ultra stiff fines makes us believe so!
6 week suspension is pretty wrong, i don’t care who he wrenches for!

“This falls in line with everything we’ve done since the beginning of the season.” Pemberton said.

    I’ll repost the following again….

    A quote from February 16, 2007……….

“After failing post-race inspection yesterday, the #24 DuPont Chevy was moved to back of the field for the Daytona 500. NASCAR claims that it was “unintentional” and therefore the team will not be fined or docked points.”

My own comclusion… Pemperton is a f***ing douche bag. These guys like Pemberton are too big for their own britches.
