UPDATE:
A reliable inside source tells Rowdy.com that Ryan Pemberton is headed to Michael Waltrip Racing to become the crew chief for driver David Reutimann. Reutimann will start the year in the #00 before moving to the #44 car vacated by Dale Jarrett [when he retires] after the first five races of 2008.

Crew chief Ryan Pemberton has left Dale Earnhardt Inc., and the team said Doug Richert will replace him beginning Wednesday.
Pemberton was scheduled to lead the No. 8 Chevrolet that will be co-driven next season by Mark Martin and Aric Almirola.
“Ryan is immensely talented and has always been sought-after,” DEI general manager John Story said Tuesday. “He’s now chosen to pursue some of those opportunities and we wish him nothing but the best.”

But wait, I thought DEI was on its way back up with a more involved Teresa ?
and another one jumps ship, that one looks to be sinking fast
Rumored to be going to Penske-Hornish #77. I agree with what you guys are saying. So much for the turnaround at DEI. It’s sad.
Another Sad Note. Did you hear about the driver from Bowman Gray Stadium that was murdered by his neighbor the other night? The driver’s name was Mitchell Stimpson. He had a 13 year old daughter. Her mother died from cancer a few months ago. Now both of her parents are gone. It was a double murder and a burglary. The creep murdered his wife before he killed Mitchell. It took place in Yadkin County. There is a trust fund for this poor girl. It’s the Lauren M. Stimpson Fund at Wachovia banks. Keep this family in your prayers.
Another one bites the dust @ DEI
on another note Gigolo george,so sad to read,
I will keep this family in my thoughts and prayers
WAKE UP DEI.SOMEBODY IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!WITH HER AT THE HELM YOU ARE GOING NOWHERE FAST!!!!
Excellent news for MWR!
Did Pemberton work with Waltrip when Mikey was at DEI? Can’t keep
up with who all the crew chiefs are…
I guess Teresa will be the one turning out the lights.. of the
soon to be museum.
Teresa, what do you tell a woman with 2 black eyes? Nothing. Someone already told her twice. In other words, what don’t you understand?

Dale Jarrett and Pemberton raced together.
David Reutimann led by Pemberton that will be a hot combination
I don’t understand him leaving for a better opportunity is Teresas doing…I take it as he wants a chance to run at the championship not some split seat driver development deal that the joke of an 8 car is! Might as well just stay at the test track with that thing…
How bad has it got at dei that he would leave an go to waltrip smh thats sad…….
Well now that most of the family has left, its time for the rest of the loyal followers to start leaving. Cant fool the public, DEI is sinking fast.
This is a sad time. That woman is systematically destroying what Senior built. Unbelievable!!!
facts are facts: if it wasn’t
for Teresa, Junior would be just another driver today, not the most
popular superstar in the sport. Unfortunately, far too many Junior
fans think it was he who single-handedly built up himself, his car
and his number as a brand, when it was actually his stepmother.
When he tried to pull the power play earlier this year, demanding
controlling interest in the company, she wouldn’t budge – and I
don’t
blame her. It had nothing to do with family; it was about business.
She did not want to see Junior possibly tear down all that she and her late husband built. The late Dale Sr. said countless times that Teresa was the brains behind the business side of DEI, and whether
they like her or not, Junior and his fans owe Teresa a great deal
of
gratitude for making him what he is today. While it probably was
inevitable that Teresa and Junior were eventually going to part
ways
because of their respective stubbornness, the real test now will be
what they do away from each other.
Jr will be just fine as for the 8 and dei I dont see that car doing crap next year,an tampbbay99 Teresa didnt do crap for Jr lol he was already popular and things from the busch series he was the 1 driving the 8 car not teresa he made his own name she should be thanking him….

I thought this story was about crew chiefs leaving dei? It is funny how JR haters say it is his father or his name or both that have made him. This is a new one, “TERESA MADE HIM WHO HE IS” WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. He had to fight for everything he has gotten sense his dad died and anyone who knows anything knows that.
uess his Dad should have updated the will.If you wanna point fingers, point them at Senior.

A mistake made every day of every year. Does anyone really believe that senior didn’t want his children to have something?
Lets get back on track. This is about another crew chief leaving DEI. Is it because they think it is the best place in the world to work…..I think not.
