Newman not happy with Borland’s firing at Penske

Ryan Newman has expressed his unhappiness at Penske Racing and their decision to fire crew chief Matt Borland:
“It´s difficult for me. When you´ve got a guy that´s your crew chief and your best man and they don´t offer him a position that he´s fully capable of …it´s not the way I thought things were run.” “It´s kind of a difficult situation to explain on the radio, but I´ll definitely miss Matt and I know that he still wants to be a part of the team in a round about way but he was kind of run off.”
As for what Newman has to say about his new crew chief Michael Nelson, who used to be the team engineer for the Alltel Dodge..”I think Mike will do a good job, but we´ve got parts and pieces we´ve got to build to make the race cars faster. Changing people isn´t the final answer on making the race car go faster.”
- Newman may or may not stay at Penske
- Newman to leave Penske at end of season
- Penske Racing South President to retire, Newman to get new crew chief
- Wallace says Newman was fired
- Newman likely to stay at Penske, Yeley must improve to stay at Gibbs

Sure he’s not…
Well of coarse he’s pissed! Penske did Matt wrong! If i was ryan i’d be pissed also
thats got to be the dummest moves made in nascar{not made by jack} it wont be long befor newman is gone any way he was not happy last year .
I’m glad Borland is gone. Newman’s My fav driver. Borland made too many wrong calls that put Newman in positions where he couldn’t close the deal. I just hope Nelson is a solution. Take care Matt.
